they seem like a nice tool the only thing is the zebra does not work on carrier products. what do you use to test these motors?

Down at the bottom of the page are several VIDEO links that describe what this animal can do.
Even if you aren't interested in the Zebra device there's good technical info available about the variable speed motors.

The Electronic Commutator Motors need a little more troubleshooting 'finesse' than the old PSC motors.
The cost of the motor or the controller precludes using the
good'ol "by guess or by gosh" methods.

There can be failures in the motor that take the controller with it and vice versa.
You can run the motor at various speeds with this device and be sure which part needs to be replaced.

i think im going to get a tecmate... it is cool but seriously. all i need to know is if it will turn on... although i would like to know if it is the windings or the control. i was looking on the dealer toolbox and they have something better than the tecmate. they want you to contact them for pricing and information. i did and still waiting... if you have to ask you cant afford it lol well see ill post the info on that when i get it..

lol i don't see where i would need the tecmate either.

lets see here... if the motor is bad they recommend you replace both because a bad motor supposedly damages the module too.

the motor is a three phase motor and is just windings. check windings of motor, if good then module is bad. if windings are bad, replace both.
