Bulging cappy
Anyone know the reason why the capacitor bulges? I had to replace one on a rooftop recently.
Also can I use a 440v rated voltage rather than a 370v on a Capacitor? If the unit's voltage is 208-230v
Thanks for the replies

Low voltage is a huge culprit. Yes you can use a 440v rated cap instead of a 370v.
If you really know how it works, you have an execellent chance of fixin' er up!
Tomorrow is promised to no one...

It bulged because the smoke tried to get out of it and couldn't because it was a sealed unit.
Use the biggest hammer you like, pounding a square peg into a round hole does not equal a proper fit.

did a couple last week, keep those turbo 200 univ cap on the truck. They cost more but you save a trip out and back.
