recip to scroll
My York HP compressor just shorted. Has anybody changed out a recip and put scoll in place of it ? I would like to get a little more efficiency. I have space and can adapt for new footprint, but uncertain if the higher volume will affect the reversing valve ?

In reality, a recip compressor is more efficient then a scroll at capacities under 3.5 ton.
They use the same RV on recips as they do on scrolls.

recip to scrolls
Hey,thanks I was not aware of that, I was always informed by vendors that all scroll's could run more efficiently. The scroll worked out perfectly I used the KC for the anti reverse noise that used to be associated with the early scrolls. Thanks for your reply.
