Last one is a bit blurry... that's a Metal Tape transition being built.

Was someone beginning to errect up a SHADE device for that new Trane?
Or maybe a roofer or sometone just used the RTU to lay his supplies?
Either way, when that unit is running it wont be happy!

Rifter, one of these days we need to hook up for lunch, share horror stories, and laugh at all this sh!t that we see and deal with in our area.
I seem to be near the Priest and Washington area once a week or so. That's not too far from where you say you roam is it? At least if you drove the 143 from the I-10 to up here?

I love it, the first pic. The RTU seems to match the craftsmanship of the house.POS
The second pic. Looks like the roofer needed a table or he was trying to dry some stuff.
The third pic. Dumb assed insulating at its best. Throw enough of that foil stuff on there and it will simulate sheet metal. Dumbass!!!
I see some sh!t here as well, no inspectors, lots of dicks here!??!

The item on top of the Trane unit is an evap cooler winterization device.
Basically, it's a canvas sack you drop over the top of the evap cooler. This particular one happens to have some 2x4's that are used to weight the canvas down so it won't blow away... I'm guessing.
Except when they summerized the evap cooler --- or in this case, it looks like they removed it and replaced it with a packaged unit, the installers obviously didn't know what to do with the canvas bag, so they cleverly placed it on top of the packaged unit discharge air.
Yes, south side.
About er... hm... 32nd street? about there or 24th street... and Southern. ish. Very 'hood. This is what happens when I take photos of things OTHER than bad A/C installations:
