pstangl,
Do you know whather smartII works with NCRS v.2? Can I upload hex file (OS) to NCRS?
Could you send me a copy? I will greatly appreciate it.
FWIW,
We used to be a Staefa Dealer, so I've seen plenty of "Blocks".
We would use a Logic Flow Chart App (Visio) to create the Block program. You do it once, and that's it. We have some large jobs, one with over 750
SM2 Cards. The Documentation (Flow Charts) saves a lot of time.

Alpusm,
I was calling the small brick device that plugs into the rj11(?) port on the smart2 boards a SmartII-Tool.
Unfortunately my Staefa expertise is limited to learning enough about it to replace it.
Jogas,
I want to undersand the current programming. I will be replacing my Staefa (less than 20 sm2 cards)
We have no documentation and the company who installed doesn’t exist anymore.
I was able to print out all the blocks and I figured out the dbspis program for cross referencing.
Is my best bet just is to piece together blocks using flow charts to figure out programming?
Also does the pctool do more than the brick-like smartII tool?
Hi, we currently use several ageing smart II / tool A controlers during vav maintenance. Used both on Smart II cards and SMVU controlers.
Are these still avalible ? or reparible ?
Am i right in understanding a downloadable software program is avalible ?
If so i would apreciate a copy !
In regards to the pinouts etc on the conecting cable, this i should be able to easly test for due to equipment on site. And I will post the result.
Thingamagigy,
I'm running a site with between 2000-3000 of these sm2 cards, we have a hand tool, but i'd love a copy of the PC tool or even better a copy of the entire contents of the USB stick. I have a cable here that is RJ11-DB9 so i think thats covered. Grateful if you could shoot it through to me.
Cheers
I can send you the file for PC Tool on a DOS /USB stick if you PM me with your email. We have managed to get that working and also a version that runs under XP but only on machines that have native serial ports. I would almost kill for a USB to DB-9 to work - I have tried a few - but it seems it has to be a true hardware port. My Latitude D410 in its dock works, but we really want to do this on a netbook. We have had some issues with the faster core 2 intels not running the XP version so well, and I am not sure what that is about. PC Tool can comm to the FC but be warned that the adapters are different for communicating to the FC and the card - just to be confusing.
Would also appreciate an email of the SM2 Service tool . Any success stories on Bringing them into WEBs platform (either Johnso or Honeywell)
Thanks
Hi,
Could I get a copy of the USB program as well. Email is in profile.
Thanks,
I am a tech guy for a local K12 here in GA, Desperately needing a copy of the Staefa software. Any help would be DEEPLY appreciated! Email in profile
Thanks,

Hi,
Just inherited a Staefa smartII system. From researching this forum I have learned that the PCTools software is leaps and bounds better than the service tool. Any chance of getting it or a copy of the USB thumbdrive? Maybe some documentation?

Thanks!
does any one recommend a tool that integrates ms1800 to bacnet, the version of staefa i have doesn't have the bacnet terminal on the ncr
Where I work in those instances where we have to integrate Smart II points the only workable solution aside from completely going with a more modern system is using a Jace. You pay by the point. I am less familiar with the integration as we have an engineer who gets to yank his hair out to decide how to go and how to make it work. As near as I can figure a Jace will talk to anything but it often takes some doing and there is the cost of equipment and licensing. For new construction and major overhauls we are using ALC or Niagara Ax Jaces which can talk to anything built to the modern standards.
Guys
If it is any help, we can usually repair SM2, NCRS or Integral AS1000 controllers, recover or rebuild NCRS databases or AS1000 software, The Siemens Desigo controllers and head end are the replacement for these and MS2000 etc, and support BACnet, which is seemless, and doesnt require replacement of everything else in the system.
If there are any questions I can help with, let me know.
Cheers
Doh!...repeated myself

Is it possible to zip the files into an archive and e-mail? If so:
d.saylor@3eservicesinc.com
Also I could use a pinout of the RS232 cable so I can make one.
Anyone able to email me the Staefa Smart 2 PC Tool 4.0 ?? I am in urgent need of it!
Thanks in advance.
