Which Steak Is Best??
I'm at the supermarket trying to pick out the best steak. I got some top sorloin which grilled up real nice.
My question is, What is the difference if any and whats good between all these steaks they have there? Im looking for a good steak to grill.
They have shoulder steak, top sorloin, bottom sorloin, Chuck.

No Ribeyes,Porterhouses, or NY strips?

Of those, the top sirloin is the best grade, but I like chuck if it's grilled nicely. If everything was always done "by the book"....the book would never change.

Out of the ones you listed, I'd choose the top sirloin.
But I rarely do choose sirloin.
The best steaks for the grill, in my opinion, are the rib steaks, either with or without the bone. They are reasonably priced and they grill up nice!
Of course the all out king is the porterhouse, while a bit pricey it's a new york strip on one side of the bone and filet mingion on the other..........get 'em sliced about 1"-1 1/4" thick, hit 'em with a little olive oil and some salt and slap 'em on a red hot grill till they're medium rare and man what a meal!
Dammit, I'm hungry again, I gotta stop comin into this section.

Maybe thats my first mistake. I should go to a butcher instead of a prepackaged steak aisle

A finely grilled filet mignon with a bacon strip around it, and a fine cabernet sauvignon to go with it.

But ribeyes and a two buck chuck will work in a pinch.

I thought this thread was going to be about Pat's steaks and Geno's steaks.
I prefer Gino's.
