? on low fire hi fire 2 stage rheem
Ok it was a little chilly this am so I fired the new Rheem 2 stage. It was 65 in the house so I put the stat at 67 all went well and I assumed it was in low fire stage ??
I then just for the heck of it bumped it to 75 degs, I heard the stat click and then flashing in the stat was the word " Aux" is this mean it went to hi fire stage ??
Its hard to tell listening to it but the fan may have been running faster ??

Not sure on teh Luxpros anymore. But I think thats what they say when they bring on second stage gas.
Your stat manual should tell you.

sounds like they have the stat configured as a heat pump stat.

An RV is on a heat pump, not a gas furnace.

Probably.
Your contractor can tell you for sure. He installs that brand on a regular basis.

Ok I called Lux, they said that " this is a 2 stage stat and when the furnace goes to the 2nd stage the "aux" light flashes, this means it is calling on the 2nd stage"
I also told him when the room temp is 65 and you bump the stat to 66 the furnace comes on but you then have to go to 63 to shut it off. He said my stat is set at = or - 2 degs
He told me to chg the swing to + or - 1-1/4 deg . He said ALL the new stats are now preprogramed st the factory to the + or - 1-1/4 deg.
He said it will run more efficient this way ???

The wider the spread the more efficient, the narrower the spread the more comfort it provides.

Myself. I'd set the temp to 72, with a narrow temp diff. Comfort.
