In being that an air conditioner has two jobs (cool the house and reduce the humidity), it seems that most thermostat's that I have come across as a homeowner are strictly geared towards lowering the temp. Are there also stats out there that will control the compressor based upon AC? Meaning, if I want my house to be 75 degrees and 55% RH, currently, my stat will turn the AC off if it hits the target temp (regardless if the RH is below the threshold or not). Is there something out there that would allow it to continue to run to remove the additional humidity? Or are we talking about a dehumidifier at this point since the house may get too cold?
