NOTE: See coil instructions prior to assembly for drain pan installation

1. Apply neoprene gasket to top of coil.
2. Position blower casing over coil opening.
NOTE: Tie plate and screws are provided with all full-cased coils.

I have a feeling this will be like arguing with an idiot when I try and get the installer to fix this.

Big problem is he is the supposed "expert" and I am just a "dumb homeowner".

I need to find the install directions to my Whirlpool unit. I have the condensing unit install and the furnace install. I don't have anything for the coil or the blower. Which one will tell me the information I should need so I can argue with an idiot?

If an A/C is installed on a furnace. Then the cooling coil is installed on top of the furnace, to protect the furnace from rusting out by condensating in teh heat exchanger. From the cold air blowing over it.

Okay, but where does the blower go? On top of everything?

So should it be:

Return Air --> Furnace --> AC Coil --> Blower

By having the blower on the bottom, what is the biggest problem? I would still think the resistance would be the same (but that is from an uneducated person's point of view).

1st, remove pricing as it is not allowed.

2nd, based on what Beenthere said you can potentially still have a good system once corrected. Why get a new one? Did the person who came out said it would be best? Just curious...

Sorry. Well he didn't seem to care either way. He also didn't think that it was much of a problem as it was. I almost had to convince him of the fact.

I am going to have a hard to justifying spending 2/5th the cost of a new system on a "cobbled together" system. They are mismatched parts, but apparently will work. I sent him all the models and pictures ahead of time and he only looked at it when he got here. Though it did seem to be the owner of the place. *shrug.

This is just crazy to me. But I'm a first time homebuyer, what do I know.

Did he check the heat exchanger.
If not make sure he checks it when he redoes the system.

No real reasin to get a new system, when this system should be find once configured correctly.
