    Anyone use a Chrysler discount?

Has anyone used the family discount from chrysler before? How much off do get?

I believe it was that you pay 500 over what the dealership paid, but cant remember.

Around here we call that "A Plan", and it's more than $500.00. Sounds like what you are talking about is "X Plan".........but that's Detroit speak, may be different on the left coast.

Be careful with these types of "plans".

I was going to use my GM Supplier Discount for my new '08 Pontiac Vibe. This discount turned out to be only $600 off sticker price from my local dealer. I couldn't believe it and walked out of the dealership.

I used Edmunds.com and found a dealer who really wanted a sale. Got $3500 off of sticker price.

I would wait until the last week in the month before you start negotiating, and 3 days until the end of the month before serious negotiating.

The car dealers are hurting. It's a buyers market.

    Good luck.

This is something different, its not the fake employee pricing that all the manufactures did a few years ago, this and encentive from being an employee of chrysler corp. My grandfather retired from them and the program has recently been extened to family members.

Its not off sticker price, but what the dealership paid for the vehicle + $500.

I would consider negotiating your best price first, via internet offers, then throw in the "family discount" and see how much the difference is between the 2 prices.

The GM supplier discount was not fake employee pricing. I had to go to GM's web page, type in a code that I got from our Employee Benefits group, and get a code number from GM. The GM dealer printed out an invoice for a vehicle that had 3 prices on it: Sticker price, Employee Discount price, and Supplier Discount price. My supplier price sucked (maybe the dealer had something to do with it). Your Employee Discount price will be better than the Supplier Discount price, but will it be better than a negotiated price (especially with dealers hungry for sales)? I would want to know.

    Good luck.

NO, it was a fake but good marketing strategy.

At no time during that sale did you ever get the actual invoice of what the dealer paid. That incoice they gave you was something that the manager can manipulate anyway they want, (Brother in law is a sales manager for GM).

    I believe you.

I didn't like what I saw from that dealer and didn't buy from him.

    Take care.

It's a great car except for the name - Vibe. Sounds gay. Good thing I am secure enough in my manliness that I can drive a car with that name
