Some of your favorite "basic" systems?
I am in the market for a heat pump/propane furnace dual fuel setup. Since I am on a fairly tight budget, I am probably looking at a 13 or 14 seer heat pump. I’d appreciate it if some of you would post the brand and model numbers for some of your favorite “basic” systems. I am looking for a system similar to the one below. I am open to any and all brands.
Example:
Heat pump - Trane XR-13 4TWR3036A
Furnace - 90% TUX1B080A9421A (74K btu)
Coil - 4TXCB036BC3
Thanks
Bill

unless you live way north. Since you are on a tight budget drop the 90% furnace. the average payback here with a heat pump is 12-15 yrs.(not worth it JMO)
Carrier Comfort series heat pump (dont have #'s at home)
Carrier 80% single speed ( again no #'s)
Whatever you get 10yr parts and labor warranty is a mustThe first man gets the pearl, All the second gets is the shell

A 14 SEER Goodman R22 3-ton heat pump condenser is model# GSH14036. The 410A version is SSH14036.
For low operating costs, you want a heat pump thats 14 or 15 SEER, 12 EER, 9 HSPF.
Not sure of furnace model# so here's their website:
www.GoodmanMFG.com.
Good luck.

On a tight budget and you want a dual system in Winston Salem? You don't need it. Auxillary heat strips in the heat pump will take care of your needs at a much lower cost.
A couple of years ago I would have agreed with the dual set up, but with gas prices the way they are now it's just not worth it in most of NC.
