Haven't seen much discussion regarding Whirlpool equipment. I know back in the day their other appliances and window shakers were near bulletproof. Ever installed or worked on one recently, who owns the company, yada yada.

Whirlpool is made by Allied Air, the Lennox division that also makes Armstrong, Air Ease, Ducane etc.

like loonie said, the w/p name is licensed by tradewinds llc. thats baker distributing and watsco depending where you are. it has nothing to do with the old w/p equipment.

I gotta ask, Why would the Romulans want our old Whirlpool air conditioners? Do they know something we don't. Should I hoard some and sell them to the Ferengi.

Whirlpool sold some of the HVAC biz to Heil-Quaker in about 1986 -- only kept the dehum line -- ' wanted only carry-out appliances' --
I removed the dehum production line & sent it to LaVergn, TN --

H-Q morfed into ICP
ICP morfed into United Technologies, Carrier Div.

many of the 'brand' appliances are made by 'unknown' mfgr --
Heil-Quaker | ICP made Kenmore, Bryant, bought KeepRite, etc --
