Controling Mr Slims
I have a problem job where the ME specified some ductless Mr Slim fan coil units to be used for backup cooling for some small archive rooms. The DDC system is to turn on these unit in case the main AHU fails or is otherwise shutdown.
Problem is these unit have remote control thermostats with the on/off button on the remote. Turning them off is easy, just kill power. But, once power is restored, someone must press the on button on the remote control.
Has anyone found a way to turn on these types of units on with a DDC system?

We ran into the same issue not long ago.
We were able to obtain an adapter through RSD. (after many many phone calls)
The part # is PAC-SE55RA-E
The only place I found online with a description is in New Zealand, but they won't let you download the documentation, unless you're a member

it's a $25 part. We used a Honeywell CHC controller to take care of the enable/disable.

Mitsubishi has a Lon to M-Net interface available which you can see upto 50 Mr Slim units. There is about 20 snvts available to fully control all functions including the display. We set it up using 5 Splits and it worked very well

Mitsubishi also has a bacnet gateway, part number: "SW-BACNET". Using this interface you can read/write setpoints, establish occupancy, override on/off, etc. I believe that SW-BACNET is basically a PC that communicates to a Mitsubishi gateway module which in turn talks on the serial network to the evap PCB's.

Just for clarity's sake, the LON gateway has the same capability.
We would want to leave anyone with the impression that the BACcrap gateway is capable of features that the LON is not.
I suppose it would be useful for the BACcrappers.

The LON cost was $1200 Australian and the Bacnet was $3500 plus when we spoke with Mistubishi. So we chose Lon even thou the JACE could do both

What, like $25 isn't cheap enough? ok, so add a few hundred $ for a Lon controller (we used the CHC from HW) to enable/disable the unit. Sounds a lot more reasonable than either option offered by Mitsubishi.
