I am in the process of converting my parents home from oil to gas.
Current layout is a (4) section Peerless steam boiler single pipe (no return).
The boiler was installed 5 years ago and is in good condition. The plumber told me to just put in a gas gun and leave the boiler in.
My question is as far as efficiency goes is the gas gun a waste and should I just replace it with a new gas fired steam boiler.
