VP IAQ for a basic system?
I may get the following system. Or at least something similar.
Heat Pump XR-13 4TWR3036A
Furnace 90% TUX1B080A9421A (74K BTU)
Coil 4TXCB036BC3
TStat TCONT803 7-Day programmable
From reading this site, it appears the Vision Pro IAQ is a better tstat than the 803. Since my proposed system is pretty basic, is the VP IAQ preferred? Should I just stick with the 803?
Thanks.

The IAQ is more stat then you need for your system configuration.
But there may not be much of a price difference. So teh fact that you won't hear a click everytime it turns the system on or off, may be worth it.
Plus if you add any thing to your system later,(motorized fresh air damper, etc) it can control it.

It would be worth it much more if you went with a variable-speed blower, so if you haven't already considered this option, I recommend you do. Otherwise, the TCONT803 sounds fine, unless like beenthere said you have plans for future upgrades and investments.

I'm considering installing one on my 32 year old oil furnace with belt drive blower motor and 10 SEER single stage A/C.

The one I'm thinking about putting on will be permanent, not a test stat.
I got a deal on this one, that can be beat, just haven't go it installed yet.(no its not hot)
I have had I think 8 different stats on in the last year.
Sometimes before returning them for warranty, I test them to make sure they are bad.
