    :O( carrier infinity heat pump problem

    hi.. well today my heat pump went out.. had a hvac guy came out to take a look.. he told me the "control board in the heat pump" was toast... is this a common thing? i have a 38ydb 3 ton unit.. he didnt give me a price yet...

    on a scale of 1-10 how bad is it gonna be? lol with 10 being expensive to where my husband will hit the roof

    ...praying it will not be that expensive

    how old is it?

    And i cant say what the price would be exactly. But pretty much being an Infinity it wont be cheap.

    Just make sure you call another tech to take a look at it too. Get a second opinion.

    Tell Johnny to sit down and have a cold one...


    cuz he's not gonna be happy with this repair bill.

    38YDB control boards aren't cheap.
    Perhaps you should have read the instructions before calling.

    If it is an Infinity, there is a good chance the part is under warranty. Those systems haven't been around that long. You'll have to pay the labor on it. That board will be quite pricey otherwise.

    i went out and looked.. the model number is ...38ydb036310

    the serial number is .. 1804e04208

    also the side panel was off to the side looks like he took the control board out?.. man it has been pretty damn hot today in durham... almost a 100*...lol he hasnt even called me back yet

    Part should be covered by warranty. You'll have to pay diagnostic and service fees.
    Perhaps you should have read the instructions before calling.
