I've contacted the company who installed the furnace, but they can't get back to me until Monday, and I need the solution completed by then, to give the wood 7 days to acclimatize. So,I appreciate your help on humidifier choice.
I'm in the position of needing to install a humdifier soon because I've had wood flooring delivered for install. Now I learn humidity control is essential to the flooring, or even having it installed.
I have a Payne furnace, the air flows upward from the furnace through the ACA. There is not enough room on the supply above, because of angles and vents attached. So I can attach to the return.
I like the Honeywell 360, have access to a drain, but the instructions say to attach to the supply, not mentioning a return. Will the 360 work sufficiently attached to the return? My option is a bypass unit.
The house is 27 years old and a two story with about 2700 sq feet, not including basement.
I appreciate everyone's input. I'm mostly ticked because I had a new furnace installed Wednesday, and had I known about the requirement, would have had them install the unit.

Personally I like a bypass on the return. I prefer Aprilaire or General to Honeywell.
I do believe a humidifier is only as good as the amount of run time of your indoor blower
I might also, but I'm limited by what I can find locally. Fortunately, I have a nearby drain, a saddle is already in place (previous owner had a humidifier) and I just installed a new outlet.
I just didn't know if having a bypass unit on the return ran moisture through the furnace or not. I've read conflicting accounts of how a bypass works.
If you are in hurry now , either go rent one for a couple weeks or buy some portables. This will give you some time to figure out what you want, and not paying the gotta have it now price.
That's a good idea. Thanks.
