    Baby poop in TXV

    Never seen such a thing

Manitowoc Freezer 2 door stand up , compressor and everything on top

    R404

Cond had a blanket of lint

Suction was low after cleaning , so I knew the poor thing baked itsself

Pulled txv screen and it was clogged up with white chalk

Take Txv body apart to check , and all over the spring and the needle and inside body was this brown stuff that i could wipe off easily.

Change drier , add little acidaway just for the hellofvit , and its up running happy again.

I dont know how long tho ..... what in the world is causing that build up ??

Was the oil tested for acids? Can you add a SGMIndicator? That drier might have to be changed out a few times, frying the oil real possible.

I had sort of the same thing. A white-ish grey stuff in the TEV strainer. It was maybe nine months ago, so it's sort of hard to remember, but I think I remember that same "chalky" texture between my fingers.

Couldn't figure out what it was, so the unit got a new drier and TEV and let 'er rip.

Yea i carry those quick check ones you push onto the schrader valve , no acid

Might have to add a SG if it does this again.

I have seen other units where the refrigerant passing thru was brown , and they were still running somehow

The RSES magazine has had articles about POE oil and what you're seeing. RSES also has the relavent SAMS manuals in PDF, free online for members. You might want to look into joining.

Did you read any of those articles? If so, what is the cause of that white stuff?
