I just placed a call to a Trane comfort specialist in the area. I am going to have them come and give me an estimate on both replacing the current setup with Trane equipment and bringing the current setup up to snuff.

The problems you are having are not fixable by replacing the brand. You need to find a contractor that can fix the problem.

You are replacing 2 systems that are not even 1 year old (installed in August of '07)? These systems have a 10 year parts warranty. Your problem is with the installation not with the equipment.

You should chill-out and re-think this potentially unwise and expensive decision.

    Good luck.

OK - I was blinded by emotion and didn't see that part.

    Best to you.

And then when the Trane dosn't go "choo-choo", he'll call Lennox out and bash them because Dave Lennox wasn't the installer

I really couldn't care less about EPA regs myself, but even I know this was a bad thing to do. At least the AC works now, but for how long? The gurgling lines are not a good sign I would think.

i do apoligize since this is the case. was a rough day yesterday.... I dout the epa would do anything because your word agaist thiers but doesnt make it ok.
yes they got you cool but there is no excuse for thier ethics.

replacing brand new units is not smart even if you can afford it.
if you do donate those to someone that needs ac and cannot afford it

your problem isnt the brand it is the install. Were te leaks found time will tell

I don't see any body dumping 16 lbs of r22, not when they can pump it over in less time then it takes to recover it. Especially at 8 in the evening.

It seems you have some unusually high expectations that cross over into unrealistic.

Maybe theses guys weren't charm school grads but you come across a hard to please.

My dad told me once that "Some folks would b!tch if they were hung with a 24krt gold rope".
