thermostats are starting to get real geeky! I talked this over with a buddy of mine. I'd love to see one that recorded usage (already there), temps and was able to be controlled by a text message from a cellphone. One that downloaded all the info to a laptop for analysis would be necessary to complete the geek fantasy.
I'd be interested to see what others have found.

Honeywell make stats that can be control by phone.
There are stats, that connect to the web, and record all temps, humidity, and graph it for you.
Do a search on the net, many choicses available.

One of the most geeky systems I've seen posted on this forum is http://welserver.com/WEL0043/
Not sure of the texting interface though.

I've seen it before, but didn't realize it was instantous!

is the delta T too high?? I'm seeing a 30.2 degree temperature drop in zone 1/2/3. I normally like to see 15-20?? I don't know where I got that # originally, but it seems to work pretty good.

Use the biggest hammer you like, pounding a square peg into a round hole does not equal a proper fit.

Trane and American Standard have a new furnace that you can control from your phone. It can also be programmed to call you and a few other people if there's a problem.

Doesn't the Infinity control allow you to do this over the internet ??? I could of sowre I read somewhere either in the manual or on Carriers web site that the Infinity control can be controlled over the phone or ver the internet to adjust the temp and other setting as if you were right in fornt of the control, but you had to pay a small service fee per month for the service
