And the parts house is closed today.....
Got a hot call from a tenant today. Had never really worked on this one before, had only washed the condenser a couple of times. I think I fixed a leak on it last year, but it really never had acted up. I get to unit and open it up and start to have a bad feeling.

I thought to myself "Self, it looks like there is some stuff missing here."I looked at the wiring diagram and came to the conclusion the blower contactor is gone. The time delay relay is gone. ODF relay is gone. Hell even the High Temp safety was gone. The wiring is a mess. I wonder how the return compartment looks.

My shop vac is gonna be mighty sick after this. Oh well at least I know where the wire guard for the condenser fan wires went.

Keep ya posted.

A little bit of insight, their exhaust fan doesn't run at all, and the belt on it is shredded. I think that the oven and the exhaust fan are interlocked so the fan is effed. The RTU is screwed trying to be the exhaust fan and the RTU.

I got mad because I'm in charge of controlling electrical costs and the way this unit is wired the blower runs 24/7. That really chaps me.
I'm not sure who did this but rest assured I will fix it. If you look the wires for the blower contactor are taped up. The blower is hard wired to the line side of the only contactor in the cabinet. So it runs 24/7.
if If I had a go at who did this it wouldn't be pretty.

Why be so hard on the guy. After all, he did insulate the condensate line.

I've never had a problem with PVC drains getting froze out. The copper ones get freeze splits that I have to repair. If it was easy anyone could do it.
