Pretty neat, you ought to look around, a company named Funk made a conversion kit to put a flat head V8 in 8&9Ns, be kinda differant.
I have a bunch of old iron, everything is John Deere, but I had an 8N with a front end loader on it, talk about tough to steer.
Nice looking tractor. Have you seen the front end loader that goes on that?
Catpower, having all 'Deere goes against your name??? What gives???
If everything was always done "by the book"....the book would never change.
Except for my D11R
what's it do in the quarter mile?

Tractor restoration is huge in my town.
Some of you might see if you receive RFD-TV on sat or cable.
They do shows on restoration. Also tractor pulls. Some of the tractors have the same engine as funny cars.
I sometimes remember the old brands. Mccormick, Farm-all, IH,.others.

Look's like a pretty good red belly. I have an 800 D red belly myself. My favorite though is my John Deere model M. Ain't hard to figure that one out. I've seen a front end loader on a 9N, but not an 8N. Steering was 90 percent by the brake's.
Have you ever tried an old John Deere 2 cylinder? We've got to get you seeing green so you'll put the farmalls out to pasture. LOL
Have fun with the old girl.
Used to have one of these. 1939 model. Converted it to electric start so may Dad could use it.
There's TREACHERY AFOOT!!!
I'd love to have an old tractor... but unfortunately, I don't think my current yard is even big enough to turn one around in.
I had a john deere M put put
They made a front end loader for an 8N, it was a pipe built monstosity the hyd pump ran off the crankshaft where the hand crank was inserted, so you had live hydraulics, but like I said before, you'd better be strong to steer it, or you will get strong as you use it, kinda look like Popeye in a few days
Those are pretty cool. I don't think one of those would even fit in my yard
You might be from elkton if....never mind
My dad had a 9N that we called the toy tractor, now he collects Power Kings,or economy tractors same thing.
Still learning opinions welcome.
That era was American manufacturing at its finest!
There are probably 100+ of these tractors still around in a 10 mile radius from me. I have a 1955 Ford 660 tractor and a 1959 Ford 821 with a Sherman backhoe. Awesome machines!
Hey Weber I think I saw one of those fall into a sink hole the other day.
