History repeating itself, it was the same thing in the '70's when gas prices skyrocketed, the only differance was at least they made it look like a shortage, long lines at gas stations, rationing etc. With the newer generation of Americans they have done a better job of training, they just tell us the price is going up, get ready to pay more, and we do. Now it's the same thing with food and other comodities, the fuel to get them to market is driving up the price, so get ready to pay for more.
Kinda like the rice BS, did some how the world eat up all the rice in the last couple of weeks to cause a shortage, nope, commodity brokers need somewhere to put thier money, so they invest in grain futures and the price goes up, then they blame the farmers and the ethanol plants for driving up the price of corn so the greedy farmers plant more corn, and less rice, wheat, and soybeans so the prices go up on those too. Look at the price of milk lately gone up alot, milk futures were $16 hwt yesterday or about $1.28 per gallon, why is it $4 per gallon in the store? Because they can get by with it.
But don't worry the next administration will take care of us, just listen to them.
CHANGE!
Change is the second law of themodynamics, it's inevidable, but change isn't always for the best.
There's a bit more to it than that, I'm afraid. The shortage is mostly caused by a nasty fungus that is attacking rice crops in the mid and far East.did some how the world eat up all the rice in the last couple of weeks to cause a shortage, nope, commodity brokers need somewhere to put thier money, so they invest in grain futures and the price goes up, then they blame the farmers and the ethanol plants for driving up the price of corn so the greedy farmers plant more corn, and less rice, wheat, and soybeans so the prices go up on those too.
"Most people would sooner die than think; in fact, they do so." ― Bertrand Russell
There's always been nasty fungus, drought and a long list of maladaies that have caused market speculators to jack prices up then the maladay passes and the market tanks, I've been in the farming business for 54 yrs, and it's always been the same, futures are up when you plant, thinkin wow gonna make some money this year, and when it comes time to fire up the combine it's about the same price as it was last year
they are trying to wipe out the middle class

Naww ... Nobodys trying to wipe out any classes . The cost of gasoline is determined by oil futures traders who shout prices at each other in the pits of the New York Mercantile Stock Exchange during the day and quietly make deals electronically overnight. Its a 24-hour-a-day automated auction where prices can rapidly change as the trading floor searches for every piece of energy data it can get its hands on.
At all times there’s a continual action going on . Everybody thinks the oil companies raise gasoline prices * Miss - informed people think this way * But never fear , because Im about to inform you They don’t set gasoline prices. The Market sets gasoline prices ( Greedy investors in the NY stock Exchange ) and it is every bit as much a matter of bidders driving the price up that they’re willing to pay because they’re competing to buy scarce product , as it is sellers holding back and raising the price they want to get ( like they say , oh gee , we are running short right now ) while having their fingers crossed behind their backs .
The bottom line is in any kind of auction, it’s kind of going both ways. They play both sides too .
Everybody from oil producers and refiners to big consumers and speculators get in the action. Sellers can be refiners and importers who are bringing in product or producing product and have it available for sale, and on the buying side, you’ve got traders and marketers who want to purchase product so they can turn around and sell it to somebody else .The speculating folks that are also in the market can be in on either the buying or selling side because they’re constantly either taking long or short positions simply depending on whether they think the price is going to go up or down.
Speculators can be anyone who has the money to buy futures contracts or options in them .Oil really isn’t any different than wheat, corn, gold or platinum.... They’re all traded that way.
If you want to stop crying about the price of gas, and instead smile all the way to the bank ..... get into the oil stock market .... but know what you are doing or you will lose- your -ass .
It's all coming together now. Gas has been going up and up in price which makes those little Jap rice burner cars more desirable. HAH! Now that rice is going up too, let's see how the rice burners of the world make out.
Don't worry; President Obama will bring about "changes" that will cure all of our problems.
-OR-
President Clinton the second will make sure that all who get sick from the fungi infected rice will be given free medical treatment in the new Federal Medical facilities she will be having built.
It's all good. The future is looking up, right after November.

Even if you could stop the tree huggers from blocking all new drilling offshore and build new refineries, it will still take to long for anything to come about. Yep, were all screwed. Time to clean out washington.

If you clean out Washington, where would you put all the toxic waste?
we need a dictator . We need another Augustus Caesar (Octavian )
Heres a little info on him . Julius Cesar was the first dictator of Rome , but was soon killed by the senate for trying to reform the senate into something the people wanted . BUT their plan didnt work simply by killing him , nope , the people of Rome loved the Ideals Julius had , and elected his nephew to take over .... Octavian Caesar . He ultimately had the bad apples killed in the senate after a while , and turned Rome into a nice place to live for centuries to come .
