    Metasys GPL & Windows XP

I have just updated an old OWS to a XP workstation and now when I start GPL if I try to copy an existing Process block I get the following Error:

"Too many items for move/copy operation"

Any thoughts or help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

I don't think it is related to XP.
I was having this issue back in the days of Win3.1 Win95 and Win98 also

This is just one of the limitations of GPL. If you put too many blocks in a process compound you won't be able to copy it.

    A workaround:
Save the Process under a different file name. You will use this a your scratch file.
Use this file to break up your process into different sections or compounds as GPL calls them. Two compounds useally does the trick, but if the process has a lot of logic you might need to break it down in 3 or even 4 compounds

    Create the compounds as follows:
Select the compound icon and select make. Now select a portion of the program give it a name and "save to disk"
Delete this portion from the program and create another compound of whatever is left. And again save this to disk.

Now you can insert these compounds in your new process and all there is left to do is to reconnect the missing connections.

Just remember saving a compound to disk is GPL's way of Copy and Paste

I have an issue with GPL and XP too.
I open GPL , modify processes, then when
I translate, the results are garbled.
Other than that , it works.

This happens with my laptop also.
I am not sure if this is a XP issue as I have seen plenty of XP machines where the translation works fine.

This how I solve the garble on my laptop:
When the translation is done hit "Alt-Tab" This will send GPL to the taskbar
Then click on GPL on the taskbar. GPL opens again and ...... the garble is gone.
At least this way you can see if the translation had any errors.

Now that we are on the subject here is another one:
When I launch GPL then there is a horizontal line on the top, which makes it hard to do any work in that area.
Then I do a "Alt-Tab" and open GPL again......and the line is gone

    Weird Huh??
