I saw a gentleman on linkin by the name of Chris Staley who is friends with I belive everyone that's works @ Navien. His list of specialties one being a Navien service specialist. He posted a long to some website I beleive to be his just by reading it and looking at the pics on the website (by the way I do believe it was some of the best Navien installs I have ever seen). What I'm getting @ is their is a place to email him questions or comments. Maybe try there. Here is the link I found

more info is needed. Most Tankless units I've serviced that were having problems were usually caused by installer error. Most common problem is undersized gas line.

Hi guys thanks for the replys. It was 0 deg weather the week this unit had problems.
It has a dedicated 3/4 black pipe gas line.
The gas meter on the house is very very old and is getting replaced by the utility company.
I had correct gas pressure of 3.5 inches.
Its been running fine with warmer temps. The ventng is correct too with the intake pipe and vent pipe spacing correct.

You're painting with a very broad brush my friend.
3/4" line means nothing without length.

If you got 3.5" gas pressure on a Navien unit, you are having problem. Cause for inlet, 3.5" is not enough. For outlet, newer model should be negative because the inducer suck in the gas and air; for old model, you have to follow their instruction on how to set gas pressure, you cannot just measure the manifold pressure.

The CH180 models will not work for more than a day when cold on propane. The NCB210 is fine.
No way to fix the issue either.

I had a ch180 LP unit that we kept getting the same error. According to Navien they have had ongoing issues with the ch180. They ended up replacing it with a ch210 and there has not been anymore issues. Supposedly the ncb180 has no problems with Navien having changed to a negative pressure gas valve.
