Reversing a PAV with ridge vents
Has anyone given thought on reversing a PAV if your house has ridge vents? This will eliminate the negative pressure in the home and even on hot days bring in "Cooler" air. Then the passive flow of the ridge vents will evacuate the air up thru the roof line. Thoughts?

Powered Attic Ventilator.
And no, thats generally going to be a bad idea. You're going to get hot dusty attic air forced down into the home.

As above. If running a PAV puts your house into a neg pressure, then running it as a intake will pressurize your home with hot humid unconditioned air.

If your PAV pulls your house into a negative pressure, don't you have other issues to worry about?

Well, it was a thought....did not think it would fly, but had to ask....Have 2 PAV's in the attic disconnected, I guess they will stay that way....
For Sale: 2 slightly used PAV's ....best offer...

ridge vent is a passive system, that's why it works the best.

The solution is obvious. One sucks while the other blows. Called balanced ventilation. That was easy. Regards TB
Bear Rules: Keep our home <50% RH summer, controls mites/mold and very comfortable.
Provide 60-100 cfm of fresh air when occupied to purge indoor pollutants and keep window dry during cold weather. T-stat setup/setback +8 hrs. saves energy
Use +Merv 10 air filter. -Don't forget the "Golden Rule"

might help keep rain out of roof vents --
BUT, might bring rain thru PAV --
-- unless 'hat' of pav has large diam [ say, that of those of 1970s ] or has a 'skirt' around the outer edge of 'hat'harvest rainwater,make SHADE,R75/50/30= roof/wall/floor, use HVAC mastic,caulk all wall seams!
