guy says his health insurace...
a guy at my work is in a big argument with our company, he claims his Kiaser health insurance is MORE MONEY through the company then he was paying before he got hired.
he claims he called Kiaser and his plans are identicle.
he says he was paying a few dollars less before he got hired.
our company claims they have some of the best health plans and they claim they pay 70%,
but it looks as though they are closer to 0%
in my opinion, why would anyone think you would get a discount through a company?
you are going to charge the people who work less money than the people who don't?

I pay less for the same plan on my own.
Company plan has to cover all the unhealthy pigs. So, the healthy folks get boned.
I said no thanks. I'll just buy my own health insurance.Merry Christmas

They could arrange the company plan any way they want. If they go by the rate tables a young single guy doesn't have to pay very much a month.

After hearing about the California billion $$ suit against Blue Cross we all might be able to assume were covered at all.
Tracers work both ways.

Coverage for my wife, me and our little girl at my company is $185 a week.

Same coverage with my wife's company is $38 a week.
Guess where we're at.

That's because you pay 100% on your plan and on your wifes plan the company picks up 80% of it and your wife pays 20%. Very similar if not identical plan. The difference is who is paying the premium.

Employer sponsored health insurance is why insurance and medical cost too much. Put it on the open market where everyone has to pay for it themselves and watch the cost drop.
It's BS where the medical profession gives discounts to large insurance companies and sticks it to the people that don't have insurance.
When my son was born I went to the hospital and negotiated the bill. I asked why they where beating me up and giving discounts to insurance companies. The rep looked me right in the eye and said they rely on guys like me paying the full bill.Beware of advice given by some guy on the Internet.
