    Hmm Carrier Question

I have a carrier day and night unit that the outside fan was not coming on so i called a tech that came out and replaced the compressor delay board part number HN67PA025 with a ICM102 Delay. I am trying to determine if everything is working properly like he said because before when the unit was working i could swear when the air came on the outside fan would start up at the same time but with the new control board when the air comes on the outside fan does not come on until about 5 minutes after so does anyone know if this is correct.

I think your delay is suppose to be a delay on break.
That icm102 is a delay on make.

Just tell them they put the wrong type delay in.
Then it will only have taken them twice to fix it right.

why would you delay a condenser fan unless it is for head pressure control?
Two Hydrogen atoms met one day. One said to the other "I've lost my electron". The second said "Are you sure?" The first said "Yes, I'm positive".

The relay is suppose to be delaying the contactor on break.
I think what he's seeing is the compressor and fan are not starting, but all he see's is the fan.

I checked the board last night and they used a icm 102 like i thought the compressor comes on then the fan does not start until the 5 minute delay from the board and when the cycle is over the fan stops with the compressor the way i think it should by the carrier book is compressor should start then 3 sec fan should start run cycle then compressor cuts off and fan should run 5 minutes after compressor shuts off. I am going to call and tell them they put the wrong board in.

They used the wrong delay, but the fan is not suppose to run for 5 minutes after the compressor stops.
