Obama: Most Liberal Senator In 2007

"Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., was the most liberal senator in 2007, according to National Journal's 27th annual vote ratings. The insurgent presidential candidate shifted further to the left last year in the run-up to the primaries, after ranking as the 16th- and 10th-most-liberal during his first two years in the Senate. "

Obama is no middle of the road Democrat concerned about the blue collar Democratic gun totting church going voter but a far left socialist who is out to destroy the economy of the US and make us into a socialist welfare state. His voting record belies public statements to the contary. Beware all you Obama supporters. Look what you are getting. Read the link. Ruth Ginsburg the past president of the ACLU would be like a middle of the roader compared to who Obama would appoint to the Supreme Court in order to further send this country down to tubes to communism.

Ya, he wants to unite us alright, under some strange flag. He's a snake in the grass I tell ya guys, he may look dumb but that's just a disguise. He's a mastermind in the ways of espionage.

The sheeple who would vote for him are what gets me bezoomny. Do they just wake up and think, "we liberals must need someone to tell us all how to live" ?? Liberals can't figure it out for themselves? The same people who think they know how everyone else should live.

Obama is just the leader they deserve.

Karl Mark said that "religion was the opium of the masses" and Obama says that when the masses get bitter they turn to religion. Basically the same thing except worded differently. Yes if you want change vote for Obama. Go from capitalism to communism on an express ride, have fun.

You people are amusing. How is Obama going to turn us into communists? Do you paranoid fools think that he is going to magically abolish Congress and the entire way our government is setup all by himself? People are getting behind Obama because he IS a new face...Clinton and Mccain have been in national government for years..and look at the shape the country is in today. Clinton is a lost cause, and Mccain seemingly has no real plan for anything, other than keeping us in Iraq for 100 years. Otherwise all he does is twist Obamas words around. The more Mccain talks, the more he sound like our current president, which is scary to most people. I don't particularly agree with Obama on a lot of issues, but the more I watch this campaign unfold, the more I lean towards voting for him. Yoe paranoid people in this forum keep saying he wants to derail us and turn us into communists and kill our economy even more..where exactly are you pulling those conclusions from? What has he said that makes you beleive that?

So, when McCain talks you hear...Bush? Care to elaborate? Or is that just one of the talking points you've been led to believe?

Obama is very socialist. He's been said to be very like his mother who was a very socialist person...
I'm waiting for his book to come in at the library so I can read it. I'm not, nor never will be, a supporter of his but I would like to see if I can understand why people are blindly following him. And that is what it is, blindly.

So, if you don't think Obama is socialist/communist, by all means expound upon why.
Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

I simply don't see where the attacks on him for being a commie loving socialist are coming from. Is he a little more left leaning than many politicians? Yes. That doesn't make him a communist. As for hearing Bush when I listen to Mccain..let's see. We must stay in Iraq for however long it takes to "win"..sounds like Bush. Lets extend the tax cuts for the wealthy that hasn't really done much to help anybody else, sounds like bush, and there,s more. The funny thing is, in 2000, Mccain was popular for being the republicans anti-Bush...now he seems to think being bush is the way to go. I asked why Obama is accused of being a communist and socialist, instead you just respond by asking me why I think he's not, not an actual answer to what I asked. Go figure. If i'm missing something about the guy, i'll change my mind in a second about him, and i'll vote for...ahh..well...maybe I will become Canadian.

Obama's record, while very scant, is very liberal. He supports socializing not only health care but increasing support programs for 'needy' while increasing governmental spending which can pretty much only come from additional taxes. He has, in his past, ties with communist/socialist activists. By name? His mother for one. Frank Marshall Davis for another. Ever hear of Democratic Socialists of America? Obama certainly has.

Regarding McCain, well, if only he was a bit more on the conservative side! I certainly don't see him as a Bush wanna be. Most Republican's don't. But, he will be the nominee and Republicans will rally around him. It's nice that they know this far in advance...

They know this far in advance because..well..who else is there? The mormon and the preaching southerner didn't really get to far. Thank goodness. As for Obama wanting to "socialize" medicine, he's not the only one. And I don't recall his plan including a government take over of health care. I remember in "92 people were saying Clinton was going to turn us into communists, that he had ties with all these socialist people..and it never happened. It's just paranoia from people who think that someone who isn't a total conservative just wants us to into communists. How much power does the president truly have to change our government, or the way it's run?

Ha! Well, according to all the Bush bashers, quite a bit!

So, when a liberal goes on and on about 'religions' and conservatives trying to force a lifestyle on people that isn't paranoia but pointing out a person's self professed socialist tendencies is? Not nit picking, would just like to understand this mind set.

Communists and Socialists are different from each other. Lumping them together is similar to saying Democrats/Republicans, which anyone wouldn't do.

Socialists are liberal whereas Communists are conservative. I understand Marx thought that Socialism was a step to Communism, but he also said democracy is the road to Socialism.

Nobody said anything about religion, and no, it's not paranoia to get sick of someone or some group trying to force their views on everyone else. I personally am not paranoid or threatened by religious people, just sick of em. Constantly writing and worrying that we're about to become socialists or communists or whatever is paranoia. I asked what makes Obama a socialist..and what he has said at any point that would indicate that is how he would run the country. Still waiting.

I did ask, have you heard of the Democratic Socialists of America? It is my understanding that he had their support in his first election, and since then.

I really don't have time to find every reference to Obama being a socialist much less a communist. Suffice it to say, there's loads of evidence pointing that way, one only has to look for it.

I'm not that concerned with the differences in socialists or communist within this country, they're both bad news for the America we know.
