    gas vs. charcoal

I know that this debate is as old as time but i was just wondering what you guys prefer? i prefer to cook pretty much everything over charcoal, i just like all the smoke and plus i can drink a few more beers while cooking as it takes longer.

I have both and I think charcoal is the best, I prefer the hardwood charcoal it gives your meat a relly good flavor.

If you're going to use gas, you might as well cook in the house. Besides you already know the answer, more beer time!

I think charcoal is best but I generally use gas to make it quicker with less soft drinks (which are rather hard). We cook out often.

I use both along with real wood sometimes. Not a big difference to me.

    I cook on gas.
My doctor gave me six months to live, but when I couldn't pay the bill he gave me six months more.

    Gas vs wood vs electric

I have been bbq and smoking for 10-12 years now and I like the hybrid systems.
The heat is from a propane burner...good consistant heat and easy to regulate.
the top has a smoker tray adds the flavor that gas lacks and I can regulate flavor better .....very helpful when smoking fish. Mine is a Brinkman 2000. the model has been discontinued for flashier crap. The smoker box rotted the first year, but being in the trade I made a new one out of stainless.
My main smoker box is gas but I have seen great results from an electric one ...super great for cold smoking stuff.

Charcoal or wood! Never gas. If you stoop to gas you might as well put on you skirt and cook inside!

Charcoal, with some tennis ball-sized chunks of green mesquite.

I use gas with a smoker box. That way I get the best of both worlds. The smoky flavor of wood and the speed and cooking control of gas.
