    My central a/c units blower works but the compressor won't

    Any ideas what might cause it to not turn on. their is a scientific atlanta DCU-S2000 attached to the unit. Any advice?

    call your local HVAC company. No DIY on the site. There could be a number of causes to the problem and only a trained service technician should be diagnosing the system.

    Dave, this problem could be as simple as a bad capacitor or as complex as a leak. It's impossible to diagnosis without looking at your condenser unit. As everyone else has said, you need a trained set of eyes to troubleshoot your system and get it back up and running. Goodluck.

    Scientific Atlantic should stick to cable boxes....
