I am still having a difficult time in deciding on a system for my new home. I was curious what the pros thought the definition of an efficient system. I've gathered that a SEER rating is more of a marketing ploy than an actual measurement of a good system. If an efficient system a properly sized unit with a high SEER (15-16)? Am I better off going with a low SEER (13), properly sized system with a variable speed blower and dual stage compressor for better efficieny and comfort? This may be all dependent on the particular system, but knowing nothing about HVAC, I just feel like I'm not getting the whole story.
