    Trane Varitrac CCP Ver 4.200.338

Is there a way to make the indoor blower run with Heat or Cool instead of continuous? There is no fan settings available on the touch screen. I have the cable for the comm. port to hook up a laptop, but my current Laptop has no comm port, so I haven't been able to access the setup with a computer.

Wondering if fan setting option is available to me if I buy/borrow a laptop with a comm port?

The building owner is upset the old version was able to run the fan this way, but the current board isn't allowing it. In unoccupied mode the fan should be off without a call, and I agree with him, an empty building needs no continuous air exchange. He would be fine with continuous operation in occupied mode.

during unocc. mode the fan should only operate on a demand for heat or cool.

ok maybe it is, I will reprogram the unoccupied times and see if it works that way.

How about in occupied mode? Is it possible to take it out of continuous fan then. Guy thinks he's wasting $$ with it running all the time(granted it probably will anyway since it is zoned)

Do you have the Varitrac software? I know that you can configure it to run during occupied modes or select auto to cycle from the software in most applications. Is this a delivered VAV or a changeover bypass?

I am not sure if you can access this configuration from the touch screen without looking at one.

You also say that you have the communication cable. Is it a 9 pin to RJ 12 (phone). Most laptops should have a regular serial comm port for the 9 pin.

VAV with a static bypass, I have all the adapters but my laptop is a cheap arse compaq, no ports except USB I'll have to steal the bosses for couple hours and try to switch it.

I couldn't find a fan option anywhere on the touch screen but good to hear I should be able to change it with the software on a computer.

This is a VAV system, why do you/the customer want to turn the fan off? There should always be some sort of load in a commercial building and not to mention the OA requirement for occupied operation. All the VAV's/dampers operate under the premise that the fan is on.

To answer your question, I have never seen a CCP set up to cycle the fan.

OK. just re-read your original post. Yes the fan should be off in unocc mode. Is this a Trane RTU with TCI communication or is it a relay board set-up?

15 ton Voyager, the building owner is a BIT ON THE TIGHT SIDE Thinks it cost too much and is not necessary to be on continuous. I can explain OA requirements til I'm blue in the face, he doesn't care, not enough tenants in the office space he says. I'll do it as he wishes if possible, not my problem if he can't stay awake at his desk all day if the fresh air isn't adequate

You need to go into the ccp set up and you should be able to set the fan to cycle from the operator display with out the laptop. If you have the software loaded on your lap top you have the PDF loaded on the laptop. if you do a search in the pdf you should be able to find the section on ccp set up. YES you can set the fan to cycle but you have to remember that this is a voting system so you will have to have every zone satisfied and a NO caller for the fan to shut off. fyi GOOD LUCK.
