    mmm just wondering

    i was doing pm on rooftop units, when i notice one unit not working i bypass the t-stat the fan came on but the compreser did not. i decided to push in the shraider valve on the hi side just to see if unit had ant freon at all, notice a dark yellowish foam sprayed out, anyfound grounded campreser ,replaced unit up and running, today iwas checked onother unit when i removed my gauges notice yellowish foam came came out on the hiside, this time unit is oky , but this struck me as odd, never came across this before, im thinking maybe moister,? this are r-22 units package.

    could be dye .. not totally sure .. normally when i get surprises like that its dye but dont take my experiences as what it definetely is

    i don't think is dye due to im the only one that works on this units, im an inhouse maintance, but i will tell you i have used stop leak in that perticuler unit could that be it? but what about this other unit. i repaired 2 leaks in the condanser : nitro,vacuum, waight charge, psi .all oky but still getting a yellowish foam when i remove the hi side gauges.

    It is just oil that built up in the line.....going through the straitor pin causes it to foam up.

    there usually is a piping error that causes the oil to build up in one location.
