    Yes, the VRV-S model is the single phase line within the commercial VRV line up and suitable for residential applications.

    i do agree with you todays technology takes alot to keep up to and vrv tech is not for your every day service tech

    (2) other products to consider:

    Samsung's FJM Free Joint Multi System , offering 2 ton and 3 ton capacities; able to offer 2, 3 and 4 zones depending on the condenser selected. You can mix / match the air handlers between a choice of ducted/fan coil style or standard wall mount. (Remote or wired controller)

    Samsung's DVM line - Variable Refrigerant Flow technology, up to 500,000 btus. Single phase and 3-phase condensers, array of air handler options: Ducted (standard, medium and high static), 1 way and 4 way ceiling cassette, wall mount, and more.
