Mod Furnace
I was takeing a mod furnace class and the instructor was stressing not to install a bypass humidfier to this type of furnace. this bypass would throw off the ecm blower as well as the temp sensers. Has anyone had any problems or have installed bypass humidfiers on these units? I did install my first mod with a bypass back in november and had no call backs or issues.
I decided on next weeks mod install to go with a fan type humidifer.

I meant the OP.

On a York mod, the bypass humidifier could slow its heating rampup down alittle.
But other then that, no harm.

I think there is a difference in a set opening like a bypass humidifier and a barametric type bypass found in some zoning systems. They will respond differently. I cannot see a bypass humidifier causing any real trouble assuming the rest of the duct system is not undersized.
My gut tells me that the instructor heard a zoning bypass is bad and made the jump to not installing a bypass humidifier without knowing why he said what he said. That happens alot in this business... just read here some of the crap people make up.
