A little bit of Science
At last count there are over 500,000,000,000 (500 Billion) planetary systems in our galaxy and over 100,000,000,000 (100 Billion) other galaxies.
What are the chances that we are not alone?
My guess is almost zero chance that we are alone.
No theological comments please, I don't go to ARP.

Reminds me of Carl Sagan...."billions and billions"

I have at least two thoughts regarding our standing in the universe:
To think we're alone is the height of human arrogance.
To think we're alone when what we know about the universe is nothing compared to what it probably is...kinda short sighted, yes?
On the other hand, it's probably a good thing there's considerable distance between us and anyone else that may be out there. If they were close by, say on Mars, we'd probably have a nuke pointed toward that planet by now.

I say we make dutchie our emissary; he speaks a foreign language anyways. If it turns out they are evil and zap him it's no big loss, I mean we hardly know Dutchie and he's not going to the convention, this will give him something to do...so maybe we should hold a vote...umm I nominate Dutchcool as our emissary...all in favor...

The fact that we are even on this planet and able to survive is amazing to me. The majority of it's history (what little we know about it) would have been un-inhabitable. It takes so many factors that happen to compliment each other to have even had life form and be sustainable....almost to the point where it had to be something from above.

For those who have fought for it, freedom has a sweetness the protected will never know.
