Heat Pump Versus Hybrid
I am upgrading my HVAC because the old AC is dead. I am thinking of installing a gas forced air furnace /AC but also thinking of a heat pump or perhaps a hybrid system that uses a heat pump and a gas furnace below the cutover temp.
What are the pros and cons of such a hybrid system?

You will save more with your boiler as the aux heat, then a gas hot air furnace.
With a hot air furnace, the heat pump has to shut off to use gas heat.
With your boiler providing hot water to a hydro coil after teh heat pump coil, both can run at the same time.
That way, when its 20°F outside, you will still have teh heat pump providing some heat for less money then it uses in electric.
