Deciding between Lennox units?
I'm trying to decide between 5-ton split units: Lennox AC13 VS with G60 gas furnace and the top of the line XC21 VS with gas furnace. Is it worth paying the extra $$ for the XC21 in regards to efficiency? With the 5ton will the XC net around 16SEER or so? Also, is there a big quailty difference b/t the two product lines?
PS- I live in the Phoenix area; I know it's a dry heat!!!
Thanks

It depends on what you pay for electricity and what temperature you maintain in your house in the summer.
I installed the Lennox XP19 in my house and the increased comfort is wonderful. It runs mostly in low stage so I have more even temperatures and better humidity control. Humidity control will not be a problem in your area.
By the way, How did you decide on a 5 ton? Was a Manual J load calculation performed on your home?Remember, Air Conditioning begins with AIR.

The G60 isn't variable speed. The G60V is. Just FYI...

5-ton was rec. for 2000sq feet w/ vaulted ceilings. We keep summer temp b/t 77 and 80 degrees with peak and non-peak time of use plan.
