Question American Standard 5 ton condenser with 4 ton air handler

I got a quote for a HVAC replacement. The dealer wants to install a 5 ton condenser 2A7A8060B with a 4 ton air handler 2TEE3F49A due to space restrictions in the closet. According to ARI standards this will give 58500 Btuh, an EER rating of 10.80 and a SEER rating of 16.50
Is this mismatch in tonnage OK? I am a little worried since I thought tonnage should be the same.
    Please help

You're fine. You lose 500 BTUs and .75 SEER point over the 065 but this is an approved match and if it fits better, should be the way to go. Pretty rare that a system gets the exact capacity.

If it has an ARI rating, no problem.
Since its all A/S equipment, they tested it.

AS/Trane has more than 10,000 ARI listed equipment combos, some of them are even stranger sounding than what your proposal has.

They used to have a couple with a 5 ton straight AC outdoor unit matched with a 3.5 ton indoor coil, with 1600 cfm through the indoor coil.
If more government is the answer, then it's a really stupid question.

    Yes.

Good match for a humid area where
air flow should be set at ~ 350 CFM/ton.

See page 9 of the TRANE AHU attachment.

if i am not mistaken that 49A variable speed air handler will match up with 3-1/2 thru 5ton condensers

dip switches will need to be set accordingly
