Brand New Trane XL19i bad compressor in 2 days

Its a mistake thats been made by more then one tech.

To my knowledge the wiring has been set up correctly , at least that is what the installers have told me. However, I think the second stage fan could be slowed down a bit and actually give greater heating and cooling off the coils.

Tomorrow everybody is showing up. First the installers and then the Factory Trane Rep. I just hope the Trane Rep is a technician and not a sales person - only time will tell and I'll keep you posted.

Pull the front cover off of the furnace and post pics and we can tell you quickly if it is wired and what the dip switches setttings are.

Given that this guy's compressor is still operable, What would have been the cheaper route to take if his compressor was unrepairable. Would just swapping out the complete HP be cheaper or would replacing the compressor be cheaper labor wise ? And then letting the company recondition the unit and sell it as a recon unit.

I was under the impression that if one of the compressors' went bad, both compressors would need to be replaced.

On a mechanical failure, just the one that failed.
On a acid burn out both.
