    I'd say both are quiet,but to say yo won't hear a heat pump outside a window may be going too far.I'd leave it at the present location,rather than move it a few inches,don't think you'll be able to tell the difference.

    Thanks everyone, every reply has been helpful. The upshot is that the dealer is going to call Monday morning with a revised quote replacing the Infinity Recip with the Infinity Scroll. As long as the quote seems fair, the dealer can then go forward with the install on Tuesday as originally scheduled.

    I think that is a good call for outdoor noise concerns.
    It's NOT the BRAND,it's the company that installs it!!!!!

    Yes, I think so too. If the system lasts 15 years it's going to cost an extra fifty eight cents a week for the upgrade to the scroll. I can live with that.
