taystat250 vs. Honeywell 8000 external tstat ?

Do these two sensors serve the same function in a heat pump system ?
I've got the Honeywell TH8320 thermostat installed with an external temperature sensor. Does this take the place of a Trane TAYSTAT250 external temperature
sensor, or do both serve different purposes ?

I'm getting quotes for a heat pump system (have an old AC system now.) One
included this in his proposal...

yes you should be ok with the Honeywell.

The BAYSTAT 250 will allow you to stage the auxillary heat. The TH8320 and the TCON803 are limited in staging, and the BAYSTAT250 should be used to stage aux.


You could use the Honeywell IAQ and it allows for staging.
