    10 Seer Replace To 13 St. Cool Condensing Unit

    I hear that if u replace the 10 seer unit into 13.
    Have to replace the indoor coil or repace the txp.
    Can I have more information

    Yep, need to replace the indoor coil.
    Sometime ago, a chart wa floating around this site. It was from Bristol compressor.
    They tested a 13 SEER condenser withan old 10 SEER coil. They could not get the efficiency, or the rated BTU's from the mismatch.

    REPLACE.

    efficiency ratings are based on a system configuration consisting on indoor, outdoor combination.

    Will it work? probably.

    Will it work efficiently? probably not.

    Will it reach your anticipated 13 seer? definitely not.

    It isn't a matter of replacing the indoor coil OR the TXV. You have to replace both to get the rated efficiency. You also could have operating problems, although not as much with straight air. Depending on your location, operating costs, cost of equipment, amount of time before you sell the home, you might want to consider a higher SEER.

    You make a little extra on replacing the ID unit also. Thats a good thing weather the economy is up or down.
    Makes some sales a little harder. Thats a bad thing.
