When I worked for JCI they sent me to the FEC class, DX-9100 class, and the LON class. The beginner level classes are not very useful if you have experience in the field. The only class that I got any use from was the LON class as it was completely different from the way JCI deals with N2 and BACnet. That said when I was with the Federal government they paid to retrain guys that have been running the controls system for 20+ years on some of them. At the end of several months of spending money on these guys they had no clue how to do anything. Sufficed to say you get what you put into it. I still say that OJT is the best way to learn.

I have taken the FEC, extended architecture and the graphics classes. I got a lot out of each one, but it is best to have a little experience in the class you are taking. The instructors will not stray to far from the teaching manual. So do not expect anything on a specific problem you have. If you can take a class and soon after apply what you learned it's ok.
