Flue Problems
The story behind this is posted in General Discussion, figured it belonged on the WOS as well.
Yes it is connected to a furnace and water heater that were both working.
We only want to do it, if we can do it right.

Looks like they were trying to recover that "Extra" heat that was just being wasted going up the flue.

That's called an Air Gap fitting.

How did that get past the inspector? That's the real problem there.
