Harold would be so proud!
We did this system for someone 2 years ago, nice neat lineset cover for the new refrigerant lines.
Their neighbor liked the way it looked, so when he got his system replaced, he told his HVAC hack that he wanted a cover "just like it" for the new lines to his system.
Well, it is the same exact cover we used...
I'd have to look it up, but I'm reasonably sure this is in violation of the IMC...
Harold would be so proud!
the best part is if they moved the new unit to the right side of the old pad it would prob be straight
Unbelievable. Did the H.O. install it himself?
How can anyone in their right mind install anything like that.
That was installed by someone who takes no pride in their work. But what is the code violation? I don't recall any codes addressing crooked piping.
Mark,
Your Line Set Cover Looks Very Nice!
true knowledge exists in knowing that you know nothing.
The disconnect (and being the OLD on at that) can't be behind the unit. THAT is against code.
Not too mention DRINKING ON THE JOB!
Because there is no way a sober person installed that cover like that and though it LOOKED good!
Mark, you got to LOVE the night and day difference in the installs!
Your install: TRANE
Their install: GOODMAN
Your Install: Nice and neat, all new electrical, whip, disconnect, etc and the straight line set cover.
Their Install: GOODMAN (got to list that one TWICE), old disconnect, etc... and that line set cover... which is slanted for some odd reason.
What Is The R Value Of Metal Tape?
true knowledge exists in knowing that you know nothing.
How can anyone finish the install take a step back look at that mess and not fix it?
They should have left the foil on their lunch.
There were no code violations commited in that install at all. Now given that it's a Goodman and had he installed the lineset and cover straight, with a new disconnect....then there would have been at least 8 code violations involved there not to mention one already I see in violation .....he used a pad under that Goodman unit....yer supposed to set them suckers right on the dert.
Now Trane on the other hand....you have to have it perfect and straight.....if not....that violates all codes
I agree with Payson.
Not that I'm a trane fan but your install was done proffesionally and the goodman was installed by a HACK. What needs to be done is the manufactururs need to get involved and talk to the distributor and contractor that installed this POS. And I am sure the inside unit is just as lovely. This type of work done by lowball, low rate contractors is what makes us all look expensive and unreasonable when you quote a higher price to a customer.
This is the big reason that goodman and janitrash got the rep they did and it still continues till this day for some. And the cheap a$$ customers dont help either.
I will believe that the government is broke when the welfare checks start bouncing!!
I think the Goodmans just fine. The guys house is in the wrong place! Move the house over a few feet. Jeeeze

Maybe the HO asked for the French Twist?
We don't need no stink'n level! Man.
We install GOOD(hack)MAN...
'Life begins with the journey each day'
A real craftsman there, lol. We install the same type of lineset covers(pre-primed), and straight.
Never kick a fresh turd on a hot day.
