Trane XE 80 gas furnace stopped blowing
My XE 80 gas furnace stopped working today. At first I had the diagnostic LED blinking 4 times indicating and open high limit device failure. I played around with one of the temp sensor and got the code to go away. I know get normal call for heat and the burner ignites. But the blower will not run, not even it I set the thermostat from auto to fan. it i kill the main power to the furnace for a couple of hours then power it back on it work fine for a couple of days.
i had a tech out and he said it is very dirty inside the blower, so he cleaned it and cleaned all the sensors.
a week later same problem. called tech back again . this time he said it is the motor capacitor it reads 4 mf instead of 5mf. installed new capacitor.
a week later same problem. is it the fan motor?? is this common ? unit is only 10 yr old.

Sounds like a bad blower motor. Flames come on, blower doesn't, high limit is tripping like it should. Call them back to check blower again and see if its even getting power to it when it should. If it was as dirty as it sounds you're lucky it lasted that long.
