    condenser frost u, had to use emergency heat

    does any one know what is going on why condenser is frosted up? I had to use emergency heat?

    Heat pump frosting is normal. It will defrost periodically. If you have Ice then there is a problem.

    If you're talking about the outside unit of a heat pump, in the winter it's an evaporator, and that's normal, especially when the outside air temp is slightly above freezing. If you leave it on normal heat, and it doesn't defrost itself, then call a technician to look at it.
