ReplyIn the 13s, both A-S & Trane use a recip in the A/Cs except 3 and 5 ton. On the pumps, only the 5 ton gets a scroll.

Is the Duration compressor A/S uses in its Allegiance SEER 13 series a scroll compressor?

There is only one scroll in American Standard and it's in the 16 SEER units

Lots of scrolls in A-S/Trane units...
Last I knew:
13s: A/C scroll in 3 & 5 ton
HP scroll in 5 ton
14s: scroll 2.5 to 5 ton
15s: scroll in all, 2 to 5 ton, no 1.5 ton in that line
Obviously the 16 is all unloading scrolls
